Northern Flicker, one of my favorite birds
Just finished this watercolor with colored pencil of the Northern Flicker for the Puget Sound Bird Fest poster competition. It was fun creating this image of the Flicker, a local bird I have enjoyed watching over the years. They are very skittish, but when you can get a glimpse of them in your yard, looking for bugs with their long pointy beaks, or just flying across the yard and displaying their colorful wings, it is always a treat.
